What is an Area Club?
Although not actually part of the Siberian Husky Club of America, Inc., local area Siberian Husky clubs frequently share the same goals as SHCA, and work on a more regional level. Area Clubs generally begin as groups of Siberian Husky fanciers in a geographical area, with a common interest in the Breed, meet to share that interest. Over time, that interest grows and a new club is formed.
Area clubs are a good place to meet other Siberian enthusiasts in your area. Generally, area clubs offer many offer educational and social opportunities. Area clubs also host sled, show, and obedience activities. Although not always the case, area clubs frequently move along a path of recognition by the American Kennel Club, with the goal of ultimately being a licensed, specialty-giving organization. Clubs pursuing this path, begin with initial formation, AKC sanctioning (when the club holds Sanctioned Matches), and AKC licensing (when the club holds Specialty Shows and Obedience Trials).
Below is a list of Siberian Husky area clubs in the United States. They appear alphabetically by state. Please realize that some metropolitan areas might span more than one state, so you might want also to check surrounding states for a contact person near you.
