FUND RAISERS

Our organization recently started a new fundraising campaign. We are very excited to involve our members and community in our latest fundraising efforts.

With these funds, our organization will be able to continue to grow and meet the goals that were established and to help promote the breed.

Please be sure to take advantage of our current Fund Raisers.

As members of the SHCA we are Excited to list our first item : “Heroes of Nome”

The SHCA commissioned Jon Van Zyle to create a piece celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Serum run heroes: Siberian Huskies Togo and Fritz, their musher, Leonhard Seppala, and the people - especially the children - in the remote town of Nome, AK.

In "Heroes of Nome" Jon Van Zyle masterfully tells the tale of two remarkable dogs, placing them in the foreground and larger than life. Behind them, softer in focus and still prominently displayed, are Leonhard Seppala, the man who logged by far the longest leg of the race to save Nome, alongside depictions of the town's vulnerable children and native population. Lights in the windows of the historic rendering of Nome show the hope and triumph of the Serum Run, and coming out of the past and into the present is the sled dog team and musher, tying the past and present together through the continuation of a way of life, an important mode of transportation, and the perfect partnership of mushers and Siberian Huskies.

Thank you for your purchase of Jon Van Zyle's Heroes of Nome. Your order will be prepared, given to Jon for signing and numbering, then back to the printer for packing and shipping to you. Thanks in advance for your patience, and for supporting Jon and the SHCA.
